Klaxons - Surfing The Void

Klaxons released their second album, Surfing The Void. As always the big question is: Will it be good as the first album? Well, i am not a music critc, i can`t go into detail when it comes to differences regarding to the style or something else. I`m just a fan of their music since they released their first album, wich really surprised me and i thought to myself: This will be a future classic! They have got the potential to become a band who will represent brtish music of this generation in the future. Like the Stone Roses or Joy Division do. This is very hard in my opinion, due to the fact we are living in a fast world of internet and YouTube, where bands come and go and new trends come faster than your postie. 

Never the less, they made a very good second album with some crackin` songs like "The Same Space", "Twin Flames", "Flashover" (very powerful!) and my absolute favorite "Future Memories" (wich is featured below). I`am not sure if i can compare it with their first album. In the moment i like their first album more, i think it was more experimental, but maybe it`s just the fact it was their first release and something completeley new and different to the common british alternative and indie rock releases. It`s definitively worth a listening and especially the songs i mentioned above! Just a "Heads up" for my loyal band of followers, who might enjoy something different like i do.

C.P. Company Spring/Summer 2009 - Canapa Italiana

This jacket, also known as the "hemp mille", is made out of 100% hemp. One of the best summer mille miglia jackets made so far. The whole design reminds me of the vintage mille miglia jackets made in the 90s. It is a lightweight summer jacket and together with the teflon jackets of the same season, my favorite mille miglia jackets so far. Maybe because the fitting of the jackets is excellent in this season. I got the chance to get my hands on a red and a beige one, they also came in navy and black. The beige one would be the perfect object for a dye job, but i don`t know if i really could do this...

New Balance 420

On my search for some new trainers, i stumbled over this nice pair of New Balance. I`ve to admit that NB hasn`t been on my radar yet, but some models are really growing on me now. It has always been Adidas for me so far, but NB has some really nice models on the trainer market. The 420 series is my favorite. The nice vintage running shoe look made me buying this blue pair of 420s and i am really happy with them,they are comfortable and come in  a very nice colourway! I think i will look more often for NB and of course the 420 series. They are a nice alternative to Adidas, they are relatively advantegeously priced and made in the UK and not in Asia.

C.P. Company Spring/Summer 2009 - Parker

Das CP Company nicht nur Jacken mit den lustigen Brillengläsern oder mit Smogmasken macht, dürfte eigentlich bekannt sein und ab und zu gelingt ihnen ein echter Hingucker. Dieser Parker aus der Sommerkollektion 2009 ist ein echtes Highlite. Irgendwie ist dieser Parker ein wenig "Mod" und daher auch ein wenig Retro und dennoch mit einem gelungenen modernen SPW Character. Durch das extrem leichte und dünne Material (100% Nylon - Polyiamid), trägt sich dieser Parker sehr angenehm und bietet zusätzlich bei Licht bzw. Sonneneinstrahlung einen leichten Schimmereffekt, ähnlich wie bei den Stone Island Shimmer Jackets, nur nicht ganz so extrem. Dieser Effekt ist sehr gut auf den Bildern zu sehen, da ich extra mit Blitz fotografiert habe. Dieser Parker kam in verschiedenen Farben, wie z.B. in Blau, Grau, Pistazie und eben auch in diesem Grün. Wobei die grüne Version nur in CP Flagshipstores erhältlich war. Ein wirklich geniales Teil, dass sich in jede SPW Sammlung perfekt einfügen kann.

Depeche Mode 101

Vor einiger Zeit bin ich in den Genuss des Dokumentarfilms "101" gekommen, ein Film über die 101 Konzerte umfassende Depeche Mode Tour durch die USA Ende der 80er Jahre, gedreht von dem Dokumentarfilmer Donn Alan Pennebaker. Dieser Film bietet neben reichlich Musik natürlich auch kleine Einblicke in das Backstageleben und kleine Episoden neben den Konzerten, wie z.B. eine Szene in der die Band in einem urigen Countrymusik-Plattenladen mit einer noch urigeren Verkäuferin in Texas durch das hiesige Angebot stöbert, Radiointerviews etc. Für diesen Film wurde auch eine kleine Anzahl von Fans gecastet, die die Band in einem Reisebus auf der Tour von Konzert zu Konzert begleitet und zwangsläufig jede Menge lustige Sachen dabei erlebt. All diese Epsioden werden durch Liveaufnahmen und einer perfekten Untermalung durch Musik aufgewertet, so dass ein sehr kurzweiliger, gut geschnittener Film entstanden ist, der einem die Musik von Depeche Mode nahebringt. Besonders gut zum Tragen kommt dabei Pennebakers Lieblingsstilmittel, das Benutzen einer Handkamera, das wirklich sehr lebendige Bilder und Aufnahmen garantiert. Daher auch gut geeignet für diejenigen, die bisher noch nicht soviel  mit der Musik von Depeche Mode anfangen konnten. Ein absolut sehenswerter Film, der sowohl Musikfans aber auch Cineasten ansprechen sollte.
